As most of my readers know, I am not really a Metal fan. But I have to admit that when you are present during a metal gig, you can’t help but notice the energy that emanates from the guys and gals on stage. It’s very entertaining to say the least.
As for the prejudice about metal concert, all I can say again and again is that they are wrong ! I’ve never covered a metal event where I could see things go out of hands, and this even with things like walls of death or some quite harsh pogo. I was actually talking to one of the people in charge, he confirmed that against all prejudice there is very rarely trouble during events like these.
On a technical note: Fast, very very fast is all I can say to describe a show like this one. The light was actually very good. I had to mostly use the Fisheye (15mm F2.8) because the stage is quite low and the artists were mostly in front of the stage, but also because there was not too much clutter on stage which allowed for some really nice complete shots.
