It’s the third time that I had the chance to photograph “One Republic”, and let me tell you that the stage was fantastic. The venue was sold out, all of which made it really sad that we had to shoot the whole three songs from the back of the venue. It’s a long way even with a 200mm, a shame really 🙁
The gig was fantastic, they remain one of my favorite live acts to day. Maybe next time instead of photographing I’ll just go and watch them. Here’s the first time I’ve photographed them and here‘s the second time.
One a technical note: It doesn’t get worse than this. Low light, and a very long distance between you and the subject. Ryan’s head was smaller than my focus point, so go figure. Because of the distance even if you move a lot all the shots seem to have been taken from the same spot. Basically there’s no room for creativity here. I had to use the 70-200 (except for one shot) for the three songs.
