Nena sure made a nice entrance coming in through the crowd and warmly greeting her fans. That cost us photographers the pit and we had to shoot from behind the bar. Then came the good news that we only had two songs instead of three. I needed the shot so I did not turn around and go home (which I would have done if it wasn’t an assignment). I stepped on a beer crate behind the bar with my trusty 70-200 and tried to make the best out of a tough situation. When she came on stage a nice man in the first row had the wonderful idea to lift his girlfriend onto his shoulders. By then I had the feeling that this gig was cursed …
On a technical note: The light was ok, but seeing the angle and “obstacles” there’s not much I could do for this one. I shot the whole two songs with the 70-200 F2.8
