I think I started listening to Fall Out Boy back in 2005, it was “Dance Dance” that got me hooked. I’ve had a long break until their last album Save Rock and Roll, and I love that one !! I was stoked to see that they were playing at the Rockhal, and on top of that with “The Pretty Reckless” as a support act. A show not to be missed, ….. The Pretty Reckless did a great job at warming up the crowd, … and even starting out their first song wearing Balaclavas, … Fall Out Boy was still great.
On a technical note: The light was very “changing”, difficult to shoot to be honest. It went from very bright to nothing, zip, … nada in seconds. You had to time your shots, which is not a problem unless you are one of those “machine gun” photographers who hist the shutter release and keep that button pressed for minutes at a time. I had a WTF moment when they came on stage, as the whole band was wearing Balaclavas, ….. I was afraid it would be one of those fuck the photographers gig where they would remove them after the third song. Luckily it was only for the first one. I used the 28-75mm and the 70-200mm for the three songs.
My flickr plugin is not working at the moment, so if you want to see the whole set please click here. I promise it will be solved soon 😉
