Biffy Clyro rocked “Den Atelier” last night in Luxembourg. I was quite impressed by the scottish bands performance, it’s a bit “harder” than their recorded albums but not in a negative way. It was definitely one of the better shows I’ve photographed this year. It was the second concert of what seems to become a very successful tour.
The light consisted of stroposcopic effects at which point point the action on stage was the most intense and photogenic but photogrpahing these moments was a hit and miss situation. All you can do is press the shutter release and hope you’ve hit the right millisecond. Other than that it was a nice mixtures of colors raning from reds to blues. But all in all the light was mostly coming from behind throwing Simon Neil’s and James Johnston’s faces into deep shadows. Ben Johnston on the other hand was very well lit. I used the 28-75mm F2.8 for this gig, mainly because the pit was packed with photographers and the stage was quite small.
